Another memory board

A few weeks back I shared a memory board I had done for a friend with you all.
And now I am sharing another one.
I have a whole stack of Scrabble boards left over from our wedding
(we used the letters but not the boards)
So I figured this was the perfect time to re-purpose those boards.
My friend also said that her dad was into hiking, fishing, the outdoors and coffee.
He was also was a sheriff, so I incorporated all of these things into the board.
I do have to say that this section of the board is by far my favorite.
I asked my husband if he had any fishing things I could have.
He was able to give me the hooks, the AWESOME bobber, and the weights.
I just love these all!
I was even able to add this slice of wood to the board,
and I re-purposed some of those scrabble letters.
I do hope you have enjoyed today's post.
These boards have been a lot of fun to create, and a real labor of love for my friends going through the loss of a parent.

Round robin collage

I recently got to be part of a round robin with a few friends.
We each brought an item for the others to work on, and we took turns of 7 minutes each to work on each others projects.
Below is a progression of the piece.
It began it's life as a blank 8 x 10 canvas,
First the finished canvas, then all the steps!

At the end I added some journaling around the flower, and on the LOVE (that's not pictured here)
I just love how each girl put their touch on the piece, and now I have a fun collage canvas!

Just makin a tshirt

Yep, I'm a child of the 80's and 90's
So when my girlfriends wanted to go see new kids on the block I had to say yes too!
However I didn't haveanynew kids shirts,
So I made one!
After all, these times were all about bright colors and even some spray paint.

This was super easy project.
I started with a plain white shirt.
I then hand drew and cut out the NKOTB
I used grunge letters for"right stuff" and the new sizzix dies for the "the"
I put a large sheet of watercolor paper inside the shirt
(To keep it from bleeding to the back side)
Then I mixed my tulip brand spray tie dye paints.
The fabulous part is the spray nozzle!
It's perfect for this sort of application!
Then I just went to town spray spray spraying!
You do want to make sure your letters don't shift.
In my case I had to chase the kitty away from the table I was using!

Then you just remove the letters and let the shirt dry!
Voila, a fun and easy t shirt!
I'm thinking of making fun different shirts out of all 4 that were in the package I bought.

So if you're looking for a quick shirt this product is fabulous!

Bright and cheerful thank you notes

Hello!
Today I have some thank you cards to share with you all.

In my every day life I'm a 911 operator.
Yep, I'm that voice of calm on the other end of the line when you are in an emergency.
I wanted to make thank you cards for our supervisors at work,
(for National Telecommuters Week (in April))
and I wanted needed them to be quick.
I inked up some regular heavy cardstock with bright distress inks
 (including the new mermaid lagoon)
and then I ran the paper through an embossing folder,
ran a black ink pad across the raised areas, and stamped the thank you.
Then I finished it off with a bit of black and white bakers twine.
Not too bad for a quickie card!

Hope you are having a fabulous Monday Morning!!!

Create atc

Happy Mothers Day to all the amazing mothers out there!
I'm a mom to 6 furbabies, and I'm pretty sure they won't be making me dinner or bringing me flowers, but I will get hugs and kisses from them I'm sure!

Today I have a fun ATC to share with you all.
I have recently been wanting to get back into some of the challenges that I used to participate in quite often, so I thought what better place to start than with an ATC.

There are a couple of challenges that I'll be entering this into.
I created this ATC by white embossing polka dots to the background,
then splattering some Lindys Stamp Gang Rudolphs Nose Red
Then I stamped the "Ruler," and the letters which are part of Viva Las Vegas's
Finally I stamped the butterfly with Create onto a bit of vintage dictionary page.

I got my inspiration from this photo
Which is the inspiration photo for may from viva las vegas stamps.
I'll be entering into their challenge found here.

Thanks for wandering by, I hope you are having a creative weekend!

"BUTTERFLY BOOK"

WARNING:picture heavy blog post ahead!!!

I am very excited to share this post with you all!
First there is a brand new challenge over at Anything But a Card
its to be inspired by "The Masters"
For quite a while I have had a Dali print hanging in my living room,
I love his quirkiness, and the way that he bends and moves items around.
I did not do that!
I know that's maybe a let down for you all,
I was however inspired by this painting by him

At first I wanted to try to do one of those books where all the pages are folded to make it look like some sort of word or animal.
That didn't quite pan out, but I'd like to try that again sometime.

What I decided on was a small canvas that included a butterfly.
I also (for the first time ever) got some Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays.
Wow they are fun!  If you don't have any, check them out!
So I guess I'll just leave you with all these yummy yummy pictures.

I used the color palate from Lindys Stamp Gang May challenges,
here is the picture they have to use as an inspiration
I'm hoping my colors are close to the inspiration.
I will of course be joining in their challenge, you can find that challenge here.
I used Merry go round green, pop rock purple, raspberry lemonade, tilt a wheel teal, tibetan poppy magical powder (it really is magical and WOW do I love it!!)
and lastly tibetan poppy teal spray as well.

Again, if you've never used this product it is hands down one of the best I've ever used, and I am so so so so so in love with the results!!!
